In welcoming an audience of about 80 plus people, Wednesday night, April 18, Chair, Myra Mansouri said, “it is nice to see you all here as we usually have only 3 to 4 people in the audience.” She began by explaining the public hearing for the Great River Co-Op had been rescheduled for the May 16 meeting.
Under new business, James Phippard made his presentation requesting a Public Hearing for a Special Exception for D&C Transportation of Orleans, Vermont, to build a gas station and convenience store on Rural/Agricultural land. Following questions from the board, Ms. Mansouri proposed D&C’s Public Hearing be held at the June 20 ZBA meeting. “There are a number of hearings scheduled for May, and we need to have the Planning Board’s recommendation on D&C’s application in hand,” she said. Mansouri continued, “and with the public interest we hope to not go to midnight with a full agenda.” The Board voted to accept D&C’s application and hold a Public Hearing to consider it June 20.
Public Hearings for D&C’s Special Exception request to build a gas station and convenience store on Route 12 at the junction with South Street have now been scheduled by the Planning Board for May 8, and the Zoning Board June 20. All are encouraged to attend.
